About We Rock the Spectrum Fredericksburg
Jamila and Robert Hayes are the parents of five children. Jamila is a small business owner and has worked in the medical field. Robert is a retired Marine and currently works as an analyst for the federal government. Our youngest son, Aiden, was born in 2018. At the age of three, Aiden was diagnosed with autism.
Raising a child with special needs presents many challenges. Fulfilling his needs for therapy, dental, haircuts, etc has been difficult. The one need we saw lacking in our community was a safe inclusive place that provided the sensory needs for families to bring their children to have fun. We decided to bridge that gap by partnering with We Rock the Spectrum and opening a gym in Fredericksburg, VA.
Our vision for this gym is to provide much more than a safe place to bring your children to play and have fun. We also hope to become a hub of resources and information for the community at large.

- INDOOR PLAY STRUCTURE – FOR CLIMBING AND INCREASING PLAYGROUND SKILLS
- SENSORY-BASED TOYS AND EQUIPMENT– FOR IMPROVED AUDITORY PROCESSING AND FINE MOTOR SKILLS
- FINE MOTOR AND ARTS AND CRAFTS AREA – FOR IMPROVED HAND-EYE COORDINATION
- CALMING ROOM – FOR REGULATING EMOTIONS, AND REDUCE NEGATIVE SENSORY INPUT
